Smylin' Cavaliers is a family venture with a true love for the breed and improving its' health and longevity. In some cases a link to CHIC is on the page and by clicking on this you will be taking to the Canine Health Information Centers website where these girls testing can be viewed - this is on our "Welcome To Retirement" page.Īll three of our children are involved in our cavalier venture with us. Health tests will be posted on each page of our cavaliers as they becomes available. We are happy to show you these certificates at any time or you can also check health testing of any canine at or and typing in the dogs AKC number or part of the dogs registered name. We have our breeding cavaliers health tested and certified for hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, patellar luxation, CERF(Canine Eye Registry Foundaiton) and Heart. Any ethical/reputable breeder will welcome your questions and visit with you in detail about their program. When you begin your search for a cavalier, please educate yourself regarding these issues and ask the breeder questions regarding their health testing to eliminate these problems. There are several health issues for cavaliers including: Mitral Valve Disease, Hip Dysplasia, Patellar Luxation, Retinal Dysplasia, Cataracts, Cherry Eye, Syringemyelia and Episodic Falling. It is the most important element in our breeding program. SMYLIN' CAVALIERS believes first and foremost in the health of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

We are members in good standing with both of those clubs as well as the Cavaliers of the West. Our cavaliers are all fully registered with the American Kennel Club and the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club, USA. We can provide references for you from our previous cavalier customers. We have an open door policy and welcome you to come "check us out". We strongly encourage and recommend a visit to our home so you can met our family (human and 4 legged) before purchasing a cavalier from us. Our cavaliers are a part of our family - you will not find any kennels here - they live in our home, are well socialized and love a warm lap. We are located in Douglas, Wyoming and we sit in the picturesque North Platte River Valley. In the Spring of 2010, I decided to venture outside of KCCowtown Cavaliers and begin an independent breeding program of my own with emphasis on health, confirmation, type and temperment. Christine and I were the first cavalier breeders in Wyoming and are proud to be the only Wyoming breeders that are recongnized by the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club, USA as well as the American Kennel Club. KCCowtown Cavaliers was a partnership between myself and Christine Sanderson and a love for the cavalier breed. I began breeding and health testing cavaliers in 2000 as a part of KCCowtown Cavaliers. This is when we purchased our first pet cavalier "Crusader Lite 'N' Lively" (Fergie) from Margie Riccomini of Monarch Cavaliers. Dean and I have been owned by cavaliers since 1992. Welcome to the home of Smylin' Cavaliers.
